Water Does Not Ask Permission [Quote - 475]

Published Categorised as Quote-Unquote, Quote-Unquote – Book V (401-500)

Water does not ask anyone if it should flow and in what direction. It just goes where there is an opening. And where there is no opening, water makes one.

It makes its own opening.

Water does not wait for anyone's permission to do its work, which is flow, flow, flow.

That is its nature -- water's nature. In humans it is called fire in the belly.

In the same way, those who say they work for Allah, and are serious about taking the Qur'an and the message of Islam to every home and heart that needs it -- and which one does not? -- do not wait around for their marching orders to come from others.

They do not wait for other people to tell them what to do.

They are dynamic, self-propelled, highly motivated individuals -- and groups -- who are always on the move and who are perpetually on the lookout for better and more ways to do their work.
