Dr. Pasha's
International Qur'an Program
Statement of Purpose:
Taking the Qur'an to Every
Home and Heart that needs it!
Dr. Pasha
(Bringing Islam to the World One Concept at a Time!
Taking the Qur'an to Every Home and Heart that Needs It --
And which One Does Not?)
Goals
"Our goal is to take the Qur'an to every heart and home that needs it. We want to help humanity to read, understand, memorize and practice the Qur'an. We seek to connect the People of Allah ('Ibadullah) with the Book of Allah (Kitabullah), where possible using a house of Allah (Fi Baitin Min Buyootillah).
That means, among other things, Inshallah and Mashallah,
- We want to call everyone everywhere to the Qur'an.
- We want to introduce the Qur'an to those who are unfamiliar with it.
- Those who need it - and most people do - we want to teach them to read the Qur'an correctly and properly.
- Those who want it - and all people must - we want to help them to understand the Qur'an a bit more.
- We want to encourage and help all of us to memorize whatever passages we can from the Qur'an.
- We want to develop ideas to help all of us to put the Qur'an into practice.
- And we want to do all of this, Inshallah, without regard to race, religion, creed, colour, age, ability, nationality or gender.
- Just as we want to do all of this, Inshallah, as much as we can, with the greatest regard, respect and love to everyone everywhere."
Methods
"Our methods are a part of our goals as we continually strive to internalize them, move toward them and improve them. Our methods are love, respect, service, charity, law of the land, peace, human dignity, freedom, equality and transparency. We consider these to be some of the essentials of the method - Sunnah - of Allah's beloved Rasul, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, in this context."
Resources
"Our resources are what little belief in Allah (Iman Billah) we may possess; a consuming love of his creation regardless of its divisions and distinctions; an overpowering desire to lend humanity a helping hand in its hour of distress; and a trust in Allah that his mercy and grace will not forsake or abandon us (Tawakkul Alallah)."
Needs
"This is not a solicitation of any kind and we ask nothing from anyone. But the requirements of an undertaking of this nature and magnitude are many, and we will be happy to accept help from those who would like to help us without conditions and stipulations of any kind."
(A) Books.
"Our greatest need is for books in the following languages:
- Arabic
- Urdu
- Farsi
(a) Our need is mostly for classics in the following areas of knowledge:
- Uloomul Qur'an (pertaining to Qur'an)
- Uloomul Hadith (pertaining to Hadith)
- Ulomul Fiqh (pertaining to Fiqh)
- Uloomut Tareekh (pertaining to history)
- Uloomul Adab wal-Lughah wash-Shi'r (pertaining to language, literature and poetry in Arabic, Farsi and Urdu).
It is mostly the well-known classics that we need, like, for example: Al-Itqan or ...At-Tibyan, or Hujjatullah, or Muqaddimat Ibn Khaldoon, etc.
(b) And, of course, we need copies of the Qur'an Majeed - lots and lots and lots of them - to the following specifications:
- Arabic text.
- With English translation by Abdullah Yusuf Ali.
- With full and original notes by Yusuf Ali.
- Without transliteration - that is without Arabic written in English script."
(B) Volunteers.
"We need capable, sincere, dedicated volunteers - men and women - throughout the world to help us organize Dr. Pasha's International Qur'an Program in their respective cities and societies.
We need volunteers in all parts of the world from Moscow to Prague and Budapest; from Tokyo to New Delhi and Bombay; from Hong Kong to Karachi and Lahore; from Toronto to Chicago and San Diego; from Los Angeles to Miami and Montreal; from Makkah Mukarramah to Riyadh and Amman; from Sydney to Durban and Johannesburg; from Beijing to Shanghai and Kuala
Lumpur; from London to Glasgow and Dublin; and in every other part of the world where Allah Almighty may want Dr. Pasha's International Qur'an Program to go.
We expect our volunteers to share our belief in God Almighty, our love and respect for Rasulullah, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, our love and respect for the creation of Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta'la, and our desire to help humanity everywhere, regardless of its many divisions and distinctions.
We also expect our volunteers to have the discipline and dedication to work closely with us and strictly adhere to our specifications, requests and guidelines. Just as we expect our volunteers to have no expectation of payment, reward or recognition of any kind in this world and leave it entirely in the hand of Almighty Allah.

(C) Prayers.
"More than anything else, we need your prayers and good wishes. For, as a poet once said, many a thing is made possible by prayers. We need your prayers because of that amazing pledge Allah gave us in the Qur'an - sinners and flawed as we all are:
Ask and you shall receive!
Call me and I will respond!
Name it and it shall be yours!
Allahu Akbar!
What master ever said this to a slave? Or what king ever said this to a commoner? Or what employer ever gave such a commitment to an employee? Or what parent truly made such a promise to a child?
Who in this world could ever stand behind such a pledge even if they did make it? And who in this world can ever be in a position to fulfil a pledge like this?
The immortal words of the Qur'an that summarize this amazing pledge to his people are as follows:
Wa Qaala Rabbukum:
Ud'oonee Astajib Lakum (40:60).
Paraphrase:
And your lord and master said:
Call me and I shall respond (40:60)."
Qur'an Program - Sample Lesson One:
"Let us then begin our Qur'an Program right here and now. And for lack of anything better at this time, I will call it a "lesson." Here it goes then in the name and protection of Allah; and with Allah's permission, help and blessings - Bismillah wa Bi-Idhnillah, wa Bi-'Aunillah wa 'Ala Barakatillah, wa Fi Hifzillah wa Amaanillah:
Consider the following Aayah/Aayat of the Qur'an:
Wa Qaala Rabbukum:
Ud'oonee Astajib Lakum (40:60).
Paraphrase:
And your lord and master said:
Call me and I shall respond (40:60)."
And then with all the sincerity and humility that you can possibly manage, ask yourself the following four questions:
- What do these words - and this absolutely amazing and sweeping pledge from Allah to his people - tell you about the Qur'an and its true nature and identity?
- What do you think is the likelihood or probability that these words could be the product of a human mind?
- What is the likelihood or probability that these words could have emanated out of the heart or mind of an illiterate man in a cave in Arabia?
-
Now do you understand why a passage from the Qur'an is called an Aayah - not a verse, but an Aayah?
Which means, Wallahu A'lam, every Aayat in the Qur'an - every passage, large or small - is a sign from Allah that proclaims loud and clear that this Qur'an is a living, eternal miracle in our mortal human hands?
And that this Qur'an is the best chance people in every culture and creed may have of coming to their master - and of finding peace and dignity in this world and in the next world?
We have raised the questions. You come up with the answers - your own honest and truthful answers.
That is often the method of the Qur'an - the method Allah uses to ask people to come to him. Allah wants people to ask questions and then think through answers to those questions with sincerity and humility.
Allahu Akbar! What a master and what an amazing way does he have of treating his slaves! For, that indeed is our master. Blessed be his name.
Dhaalikumullahu Rabbukum,
Fa-Tabaarakallahu Rabbul 'Aalameen (40:64).
Paraphrase:
That indeed is your master.
So, blessed be the master of the worlds (40:64).
This kind of clarity and personal insight in understanding the Qur'an is some of what Dr. Pasha's International Qur'an Program seeks to achieve."
