On the Road with the Qur'an:
A Personal Experience

Hashim Mohammad

Let us not forget that the Qur'an is our link with Allah, Muhammad, Sallallahu wa Sallam, Islam and Truth.

Hence Shaitan will do anything he can to disconnect us from these realities.

But although that may be so, Allah opens the hearts of many non-Muslims to want to own a copy of the translation of the Qur’an and find out what is in this most amazing book – the Qur'an.

Qur’an to the People

Some of us have now made it a habit to go out laden with Qur’an translation copies, and with the literature produced by Dr. Pasha, such as many of the smaller booklets as well as some of the larger volumes.

We do this once a week. Sometimes we do it more frequently.

When we go out on our book distribution drive, one of the books that is requested as much as Dr. Pasha’s topical books is a translation of the Qur'an.

That is what everybody seems to want: a copy of the translation of the Qur'an

Hunger for the Qur’an

Some non-Muslims say that their friends are thirsty and hungry for the Qur'an translation and beg for more than one copy to take to them.

It is deeply humbling to see how serious and how insistent they are.

Often, people also call us, mostly non-Muslims, during the broadcast of Pasha Hour International – Live From America.

Or immediately thereafter. Or during the course of the week.

And they all want books: especially the Qur’an translation.

Tonight, two persons – both non-Muslims – called. And they said they wanted a copy of the Qur’an translation – and also some of Dr. Pasha’s books.

Non-Muslims Rushing to the Qur’an

It seems, in spite of all that Shaitan does to keep them away from the Qur’an, Allah’s slaves cannot be stopped from rushing to Allah’s book – his Noor as he calls it in the Qur’an– the way moths rush to a burning candle.

This last Tuesday night, during the usual replay of Pasha Hour International – Live From America I just dozed off a little – the hour being quite late.

I was awakened by a call from a non-Muslim gentleman, asking for Dr. Pasha’s books – and a copy of the Qur’an.

I was on the road last night. So I decided to go in search of him.

A Rainy Encounter with a Fan of the Qur’an

It was raining quite hard, so it was difficult locating the street where the caller said he lived. And when I did find what I thought was his street, I couldn't see the house number.

So, I called him on the phone. Not once, but twice. No response.

And then suddenly my phone rang. It was my caller of last night. But the reception was poor. So, I decided to park on the street and wait.

Still visibility was quite low outside. And it was pouring.

Someone knocked at my car door. It was the shadow of a man. He said he saw a car stop and decided it had to be me.

So, he came out of the house – in the pouring rain.

How Did This Happen?

“Did you bring the books?” he asked.

Without a word, I handed him the package I had carried with me.

Without being able to see exactly on what street I was, or in front of what house, Allah had taken me directly to his street and made me stop right in front his house.

With all the visibility issues, the man could obviously see me pull up in front of his house. And he knew it was me. How, I don’t know.

I had not told him I was coming. I still don't know how this happened.

My response to the whole situation: Alhamdulillah!

Overjoyed at the Gift of a Copy of Qur’an Translation

This gentleman, middle aged, was so visibly moved and happy for the gift of literature he received that I too was deeply touched and moved.

He said he and his friends listen regularly to Pasha Hour International– Live From America.

He also took some booklets for his friends.

May Allah protect us from all harm and evil and help us to take his book – and his message – to every home and heart that needs it – and which one does not?

May Allah make us the instruments of lighting up his world, and the lives of his slaves everywhere, with the light – Noor – of his book: The Most Noble and Glorious Qur’an.

Was Salaam!
