And That Is What Every Muslim Must Do!

Life comes in comparative degrees. Nothing says it better than that most awe-inspiring divine expression of Allahu Akbar.
Those two miraculous words of Allahu Akbar constitute the very air that Muslims in every age breathe.
It is the music of the stars that reverberates in every sky in every place on earth. And it has for the past 1400-plus years.
And eternally before that!
It is that celestial – and human and earthly and of all Nature’s – music of Allahu Akbar that keeps the earth rotating on its axis. And keeps heavens pouring life-giving water on earth. And makes earth burst out with all the abundance needed for sustaining life on earth.
And, frankly, if that cry of Allahu Akbar stopped on earth, the earth will stop breathing. The earth will end! The earth will parch and die.
So, comparative degree it is!
And that means, there is, and there will always be, room for America to be greater, better and "more perfect" than it is now.
Or that it has ever been.
Ours is an endless quest for "a more perfect union," as the Constitution of the United States of America phrases it.

promote the general Welfare,
and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,

Now, let Muslims decide:
Which part of the list above is not Islam?
And where does every single Muslim young man and every single young woman in America stand in relation to that goal, and to that obligation, and in relation to that national and patriotic – just call it Islamic – challenge and duty?
That is why my entire life, every single decade, has been dedicated to the relentless and single-minded pursuit of that goal and discharge of that responsibility.
And that is also why all my life has been taken up in inviting Muslims of America to embrace this goal, and this purpose, and to single-mindedly dedicate themselves to achieving and serving it.
Anyone with eyes can see that the items listed above are nothing less than a segment of the overall fabric of Khayir Ummah that God Almighty has designed for the Believers (read: Muslims if you want) in the Qur'an.
For, the items listed above in the Constitution are simply different kinds of operationalizations, and examples and illustrations, of the same basic divine twin-methodologies of Amr Bil Ma'roof and Nahy Anil Munkar, which are so emphatically and so clearly and so repeatedly laid out in the Qur'an.
That is because without this twin-engine of Amr Bil Ma'roof and Nahy Anil Munkar pulling and tugging at it in some form or fashion, human life is impossible on earth, regardless of whether the community in question is Muslim or non-Muslim!
And whether it is old and primitive or most modern and sophisticated.
So, let Muslims of America, even now, decide if they are, or they are not, going to be a part of that effort – now and in future. For, it is part of the magic and sweet mystery of Islam that, in life, there is no such thing as "too late" – no matter how late the hour.
And in Allah's scheme of things, there is also no such thing as "impossible" – no matter how overwhelming the odds.
And it is this that drives our commitment and our effort to "Take the Qur'an to Every Home and Heart that Needs It – and Which One Does Not?"
For, everything I have said above is directly, or indirectly, derived from the Qur'an! If I had the time, and the resources, and maybe even the energy, even though we are all such free-loaders on all those gifts and blessings showered upon us by Allah the Most Giving and the Most Generous and the Most Bountiful.
If I had all those things, with Allah's Barakat pouring in from every direction, as it does even now and always, I would show you item by item, word by word, step by step, where and how these things are spelled out in the Qur'an, and how the entire life of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, was dedicated for the attainment of those purposes!
For the blessed life of Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, was not just about eating dates, wearing long clothes and deciding if the tail of the turban should be in the back or front, it was relentlessly and tirelessly and without respite about a lot of other things some of which the American Constitution talks about.
(a) It was about establishing Justice – and uncompromisingly so.

(b) Not only that. Justice was pitched and posited at a level that most of us cannot even imagine even today. The bar of Justice was set so high that humanity will forever be in pursuit of it. The world can only aspire and strive toward that “more perfect” state of being and living – and, maybe, not quite reach it.

“Uphold the scales of Justice even against your own relatives?”
Hello, people, what planet are we talking about, not just what country or what society?
Do you think the world – including America – can inch up a bit closer to that heaven of “more perfect” Justice formulated and presented by the Qur’an?
How will the world, and how will America, be able to do that when Muslims run and hide in their Lizard’s Holes that Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, prophesied about so clearly and so long ago, instead of holding a mirror to the world, and to America, and instead of helping the world and helping America to get there?
So, who will help America to rise to that status of “more perfect” Justice that the Qur’an requires? And that Allah sent the Qur’an into this world to acquire?
And that Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, strove and struggled so bravely and so mightily all his life to establish on earth? Beyond all the dates, and beyond all the camel rides, and beyond all the long and loose clothes, and beyond all the Nafil Namaz and Salaah?
Who, people, who? Which Muslim among you will do it? And who among you is man enough – and woman enough – and Muslim enough to do it?
