What Happened and Where Do We Go from Here?

For the past half century, Muslims in America have struggled with two fundamental questions. Call them Identity Questions if you want.
Those two questions are:
- Who the Muslims of America really are?
- What the Muslims of America must do as Muslims?
The answers the Muslims of America gave to these two questions have decided:
a) The fate of Muslims right here in America.
b) The fate of Muslims around the world.
c) The fate of America.
d) The fate of the world.
However, the Muslims of America, it would seem, tried everything except one thing. They did not implement the simple but tested and true formula of inviting the world to Allah – right here in America as well as around the world.
Now, this business of inviting the world to Allah is what we have been calling "Working for Allah."
And that is precisely also what we mean when we say: "Taking the Qur'an to every home and heart that needs it – and which one does not!"
For, the Qur’an is where Islam is and the Qur’an is also where all the action is.
Muslims of America, as Muslims elsewhere, took their eyes off the ball as it were. They forgot that the very purpose of their coming into being as Muslims – the very purpose of their creation – was to invite the world to Allah.

Instead, Muslims of America got distracted by all the glitz and sparkle around them – and dropped the ball.
The result was exactly what it was supposed to be: The Muslims of America failed.
And the Muslims of America paid a dear price for their folly.
And America paid a dear price for the failure of Muslims.
And so did the rest of the world – including world Muslims.
And in my view, the madness of 9/11, as well as the virtual hell that has been let loose on the world in the aftermath and against the backdrop of that madness, is all part of the terrible price both the Muslims and the rest of the world have been called upon to pay for the failure of American Muslims to commit and dedicate themselves single-mindedly to their foundational purpose of inviting humanity to Allah.
So, where do we go from here?
If any of what we said so far is true, then it would seem that the way out of our sorry situation today is still the same: Begin at the beginning and commit ourselves fully and without reservation to the goal of inviting humanity to Allah.
Right here in America – and in the rest of the world.
But now, things being what they are, the solution to our problems comes in two parts:
a) Part A: Muslims of America must repent fully and unconditionally for their past follies, failures and aberrations.
b) Part B: Muslims of America must commit themselves totally and unconditionally to the original goal of inviting the world to Allah.
That means, after all the pain and troubles of the past half century, the solution to our problems as Muslims in American, and as Muslims around the world, and to the problems of America and the world, is still the same:
Muslims of America must commit themselves totally and fully to the goal of "Taking the Qur'an to every home and heart that needs it – and which one does not!"
That means the same simple formula of inviting the world to Allah – in America and around the world.
That means the same old goal of Working for Allah with everything in our power and possession.
a) In this regard, the first level of commitment has to be at the intellectual, psychological and spiritual levels.
b) Thereafter, the next level of commitment must be at the practical, behavioral and organizational levels.
In this respect, while a lot of people are doing a lot of good things, right here in America and around the world, in many ways, our vision and approach at Pasha Hour International and IslamicSolutions.Com would still seem the best and the most forward looking and fail-proof.
And most other people seem to be coming round to our vision and approach one way or the other, sooner or later.
So, when people decide to join us, here is what they must do:
Become part of our work – fully.
Which means they must become fully familiar with our work; make a strong and unwavering commitment to our goals and approaches; and work to invite the entire world to do the same.
And do this for the rest of our lives.
And do this with everything in our power and possession.
And not get distracted by other efforts, coming from elsewhere, which no doubt will appear both attractive and powerful, even though we must always support good things wherever we find them.
The results will be spectacular with the help of Allah.
