God Is Truly One of a Kind!

Dr. Pasha

(Bringing Islam to the World One Concept at a Time!
Taking the Qur’an to Every Home and Heart that Needs It --
And which One Does Not?)

God is truly one. And he is truly one of a kind.

Here is how the Qur’an describes God: There is nothing like him.

The words of the Qur’an are: Laisa kamithlihee shaiy.

To me, that is self-evident.

For, if he is not one of a kind, and if there are two or three or 10 or 15 running around who are exactly like him, and who look, talk and walk like him, then why is he God?

In that case, all of them, each and every one of them, should be God, right?

That is why the Qur’an describes God as the one in whom all wonderful names and qualities of goodness and perfection and beauty find their home: Wa lahul asmaa-ul husnaa.

So, all this should be obvious to anyone with the least intelligence.

A-fa-laa tubsiroon, asks the Qur’an: Can’t you see?

That is why, also, the Qur’an makes it clear that it doesn’t really matter by what name you call him.

For, it is all him.

And only him.

Qulid’ullah, awud’ur Rahmaan.
Ayyanmaa tad’oo, falahul asmaa-ul husnaa!

Call him Allah or call him Rahmaan. No matter by what name you call him, he is the one to whom all most beautiful and perfect names and qualities belong.

A Related Question

But here is the question I want you all to consider: How about other things associated with God? Do they, can they, all have a parallel?

Can they have Shareeks and duplicates and imitations?

For, he is Laa shareeka lahu, correct? Meaning if he is God, he can have no partners, associates, duplicates, teammates, and what have you, right?

For nothing can be like him: Laisa kamithlihi shaiy, right? Which translates into: Laa shareeka lahu, right?

For example, do you think there is a book exactly like the Qur’an in this world?

Can there be?

And do you think there is another man like Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, in this world?

Or there can be?

Or do you think there is another compilation of absolutely unimpeachable treasure of real-time, first-person, eyewitness, primary historic data about anyone or anything like Hadih Sharif in this world?

How can there be?

For, as the Qur’an puts it, Laisa kamithlihee shaiy: There is nothing like unto him – unto God that is.

And that means unto all things directly associated with him, and emanating from him, such as the Qur’an, such as Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, and such as the Hadith Sharif.

Therefore, nothing is as self-evident as La Ilaaha Illaa Allah – No God but God – is there?

And as the Bible and Jesus Christ, may God bless him, put it: The Lord, thy God, is One!
