Dr. Morsi’s language has gone full circle: From what the world media would call “StrictlyIslamist” to what any full-blooded patriot, worth his salt, would refer to as “Fundamentally Nationalist” and “EssentiallyPatriotic.”
What many don’t understand, and some don’t want to, is that this is a most natural and logical transition:
From core Islam to the basic values of Democracy and Human Dignity and Freedom;
From Ibaadaat to Human Rights – what any Muslim scholar of Fiqh would be happy to call Mu’aamalaat;
From Islam’s ‘Aqeedah of Tawuheed to fundamental human instincts of “Nationalism” and “Patriotism“;
From Love of God to Love of People – and then from there to Love of the Land on which People Live.
This in fact is the Full and Complete Circle of Islam: what begins with Allah ends with Allah.
And it takes in all else – which is really nothing – in the middle.
For, nothing is outside this circle.
Huwal Awwalu wal Aakhir, is how the Qur’an says it: “He is the beginning and the end.”
That is why Islam IS Democracy and Human Rights and Freedom and Dignity for all.
And that is also why All Forms of Tyranny, including the Tyranny of Kings and Tyranny of Priests, are completely outside the fold of Islam.
In fact, Islam came to replace the Tyranny of Kings and Priests on earth with Islam: the Rule of Law and the message of Universal Human Liberation.
And that is partly why so many people fear and fight Islam the way they do. They simply cannot afford to have Islam set everyone everywhere free.
The fight is just not about what rituals to perform in front of what idol, statue, symbol or picture, but the real fight is who will own the People and who will dominate and direct their lives and who will control their lands and their wealth, treasures, resources and energies.

Tortured, Jailed, Killed for What
I don’t get it! Or don’t I?
The Ikhwan in Egypt were tortured and killed for over 80 years. Hundreds of thousands of them filled the jails for year after year. They never abused or maligned anyone. ...
There is still a strong possibility that Egypt’s Ruling Generals, Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) as they call themselves, and their Colonial paymasters will find a way to scuttle the Egyptian Revolution by rounding up the “Usual Suspects.”
Where Are the Shaikhs?
Where, O where are the Shaikhs?
Islam is fighting for its life in Egypt. It is fighting a desperate battle for survival. Even though Islam is never desperate and its life and survival are guaranteed by Allah forever.
Did you vote yet, or no?
If you have not cast your vote yet, in the presidential elections in Egypt, get out and do it now.
Otherwise, don’t complain after 100 or 1000 years that God did not give you an opportunity ...
No Way Morsi Can Be Allowed to Win, Says Muslim Prince

That is why a Muslim ...

Pharaoh vs. Moses in the Land of Egypt
Egypt is no ordinary place. It is the land where tyranny runs deep and Pharaohs claim to be God.
And yet, paradoxically, Egypt also is the place from where the clarion cry of freedom ...
The coup d’état in Cairo on July 3 against Egypt’s democratically elected civilian government by the Egyptian military is a crime.

Islamic Egypt? You Better Believe It!
I am calling today’s post-Revolution (January 25, 2011) Egypt “Islamic” only after careful thought. It is not just my hope or prayer but the statement of a simple fact on the ground.
Make no mistake: It ...
