Dr. Pasha's Arabic Language and Cultural Immersion Sessions -- Lesson 58

Read Every Word Carefully!

Hadith Sharif: Khayirukum Man Ta'allamal Qur'ana wa Allamahu.

Studying Qur'an is Part of Management Training
For Allah's Designated Managers on Earth!

The Other Part Is Studying the World:
What It Is and How It Works!

Muslims conveniently forget. And Professional Mullahs do a perfect job of enabling them to do it.

But the fact is Muslims are Allah's Managers on Earth. The Qur'an is as clear on it as you can imagine.

 Innee Jaa-'ilun Fil Ardi Khalifah!

And that is the highest position of power and authority that anyone can hold in the world.

Now, all Management Cadres need training, do they not? So, why wouldn't those, then, who, as Allah's Managers, are going to be occupying the Highest Positions of Power and Authority on the Entire Planet?

Studying the Qur'an, therefore, is an integral part of that Management Training for Allah's Managers on Earth.

And that means, without the Qur'an, Human Beings simply cannot do their job on this earth.

Because, Qur'an is the Playbook for how to live one's life and how to run the affairs of this world as per Allah's commands and instructions.

Just how does a team play a game without mastering the Playbook first?

It will be pretty much the way the Muslims make a mess of this world today, without knowing what Allah says in the Qur'an how the affairs of this world should be run -- according to Allah's laws and rules and regulations.

Or know it and then still do it in direct violation of what Allah says in the Qur'an.

So, either out of ignorance, as per Wa Laddalleen.

Or willfully, as per: Ghayiril Maghdoobi Alaihim.

Then, along with that, comes Reality Check: Training in the affairs of the world, past and present. How the World of Allah Works -- Now and Forever in the past and future.

Everything in this world -- and all of Islam -- is a part of those two things:

a) Understanding the Qur'an.

b) Understanding the World.

And the one does not work without the other. Let me repeat: the one does not work without the other.

All other things in life are a part of the Support System Allah provided us, so we will get on with our job of being Allah's Managers on Earth.

Wa Lakum Fil Ardi Mustaqarrun wa
Mataa-'un Ilaa Heen!

And that means all our jobs, and our families, and our businesses, and our wealth, and our worldly possessions are all part of that Support System.

They are neither the goal nor the purpose of our existence on earth.

Nor are they the true measure of our success or failure in this world.

Instead, they are all part of what Allah promised us by way of arrangements and provisions he will make sure we have, so we all can focus on doing the job which we were sent here in this world to do.

That Aayat again:

Wa Lakum Fil Ardi Mustaqarrun wa
Mataa-'un Ilaa Heen!

And Qur'an is the Set of Instructions Allah said he will send down to help and guide us.

Fa-Immaa Ya'tiyannakum Minnee Hudan.

So, without studying that Hudaa -- Set of Instructions -- first, and most carefully, and first hand, how can we possibly expect to get on with our assignment of being Allah's Managers on Earth?

What the Modern-Day Muslims have done is to completely flip this equation. They have made their families, their jobs, businesses, wealth, name and fame and all that the Primary Focus of their life on earth.

And most of them either do not know, or do not understand, or do not care about their Primary Responsibility of being Allah's Managers on Earth.

The result is all the mess that you see with your own eyes in this world.

Assignment

1) Using first the Dictionary and, then after that, Translations, and still staying away from Commentaries and Tafaaseer (plural for Tafsir), carefully do first a Word Analysis and then a broader Meaning Analysis of the following Aayat of the Qur'an:

Surah At-TawubahAayat 23 and Aayat 24.

Yaa Ayyuhalladheena Aamanoo,
Laa Tattakhidhoo Abaa-akum wa Ikhwaanakum Awuliyaa-a ... Fa-ulaa-ika Humuz-Zaalimoon (Aayat 23).

Qul In Kaana Aabaa-ukum, wa Ikhwaanukum, wa Azwaajukum...
Fa-Tarabbasoo Hattaa ... Fa-Tarabbasoo (Aayat 24).

2) Aayaat Hukm.

3) Aayaat Vilaayah.
