A very different radio program is attracting the attention of Muslims and non-Muslims alike around the world. It is fresh; it is exciting; and it is all that you wished you had in a radio program but never quite got it before.
This program truly marks a new page in broadcast history.
This one-hour radio program called ‘Pasha Hour International – Live from America!’ is broadcast live through a local radio frequency in the beautiful and cosmopolitan Caribbean island of Trinidad, West Indies, every Tuesday at 8.00pm EST – New York time.
It changes to 9:00 P.M. EST with the Daylight Savings Time.
Pasha Hour International is also simulcast live (and archived) through the Internet across the world on www.IslamicSolutions.Com
This unique program addresses some of the hottest questions of the day such as What is Islam? Who are the Muslims? What kind of world do we live in today?
Dr. Firdaus Kamalodeen, chairman of Read the Qur’an Campaign Committee, which sponsors this program, says that “in a world of confusion and doubt, we welcome a voice of clarity, a voice of integrity, a voice of moderation and sanity like the Pasha Hour International”.
The voice of course is that of Dr. Syed Hussain Pasha who addresses these questions in a delightful, sensible and practical way. From beautiful vignettes to addressing live questions from callers, this one-hour program is a “Must-Listen” for all people in all parts of the world regardless of their race or religion, culture or nationality.
Ms. Jameela Mohammed, one of the early organizers of the program, recalls how Dr. Pasha always says it was ‘a woman’ who heard Dr. Pasha’s message and arranged for the broadcast of the program. She says: “I just wanted the whole world to hear this message”.
It was Ms. Mohammed herself that initiated the first series of broadcasts.
“And now the program is in its 4th year,” says Ms. Mohammed.
In the words of Dr Pasha, the program stands for “Peace on earth and in the lives of all of God’s slaves and children. That remains our most secret wish and our most ardent prayer. And our method is love. Our goal is the wellbeing of every human being in this world – and in the next world. Our effort is service and usefulness to all human beings, animals and plant life on earth and in the ocean”.
Tahir, an ardent listener from the UK admits that he was
“overwhelmed by not just the message, but also by the presentation of the message”.
“I truly believe I was in the midst of something world class and of historical significance,”
said another person who resides in the USA and asked to be un-named, upon hearing Dr. Pasha for the first time.
“People are attracted to this program for different reasons,” said Dr Kamalodeen. “For example, the message of love and peace; or the commitment to saying things in a nice way; or to the unequivocal denunciation of violence, hate and prejudice everywhere.”
Dr Pasha states:
“We abhor violence in all forms, not because it may be expedient to do so, but because it is the very core of our being. We shun hate and prejudice in all their manifestations, not because doing so may have become popular lately, but because that is the very essence of our identity.”
Said a caller to Pasha Hour International recently:
“Doctor, I am a Christian, but I listen to your program every week. I am a pensioner now, but I would like to make a small contribution to the program. God bless you and the work you do.”
“That is why Pasha Hour International is on the air,” said Dr. Pasha in a recent e-mail communication. “To bring greater love, joy, peace, understanding, respect and appreciation of one another to our troubled world. For, that is what Islam is all about.”
“And in the process tell the world the truth, as much as we can,”
the e-mail added.

- To educate the world how God is love and how Islam is moderation and service to humanity and how “If It Is Extreme, It Is Not Islam!”
- To take the Qur’an to every home and heart that needs it – and which one does not!
